Glacier Bay

We have just arrived at our hotel the Hilton Anchourage in Anchourage. i Carn't wait till i can go see the Glaciers they are suppose to be Breathtaking and can send water flying hudreds of feet in the air making a thundeing sound the locals call the the "white thunder". The Glacier Bay spreads across 3.3 million acre park the bay actuallyuse to be ice free and was home to the Huna people for thousands of years. The Glacier Bay was found by John Cuir in 1879 and is now one of the largest marine santuarys in the world. Glacier Bay gets an average of 380 000 vistors a year. Some of the common animals you would see in this area would be humpback wales, Sea lions, Bears and moose as well as some sea birds. This place is spectaular and i am sure i will always remember this as one of the most amazing thing to see. just to watch the glaciers fall off the icebergs and smash into the water is meant to be Breathtaking.
The Glacier bay has 12 tidewater Glaciers lots of ice sheets and about 200 smaller glaciers. The Glacier Bay is located in The Glacier Bay nationalpark which is on the southeast alaska Coast.
